About Hazel

I make keepsakes from the things you can’t let go.

Hello, I’m Hazel. I hand-make memory keepsakes — bears, animals, cushions and blankets — from the clothes of someone you love, here in Newcastle upon Tyne.

This work began with my own grief. When I lost my dad, I couldn’t bear to part with his clothes. They still smelled of him; they still held him somehow. So instead of giving them away, I made a cushion from them.

That cushion sits on my bed to this day. Every time I see it, it makes me think of him — and I get to hold something made from the man I loved.

I realised then how much it can mean to keep a piece of someone close. Something you can hold in your hands, sleep beside, and pass on. So I began making keepsakes for other people too, and it has become my life’s work.

I know exactly how it feels to hand over clothing you can never replace, because I’ve felt it myself. That’s why I treat every single item as preciously as you do. I work slowly and carefully, by hand, and I’ll guide you gently through every choice — there’s never any pressure, and no question is ever too small.

Alongside the keepsakes, I also make handcrafted jewellery for life’s special moments. Whether it’s a bear from a loved one’s shirt, a school-leaving keepsake, a pet memorial, or a piece of jewellery for a wedding day — if you can imagine it, I’ll do my best to make it.

You’re welcome to drop your items off with me in person here in Newcastle, or post them from anywhere in the UK. Either way, they’ll be in safe and caring hands.

Treated as precious

Your clothing is looked after with the same care I gave my own dad’s.

Made by hand, by me

Every keepsake is crafted personally — never rushed, never mass-made.

Gentle every step

I’ll guide you kindly through it all, in person in Newcastle or by post UK-wide.
